The Eagle River in Colorado is a freestone river renowned for its excellent fly fishing, particularly for wild brown and rainbow trout. It flows from the Continental Divide in Eagle County, approximately 70 miles west to its confluence with the Colorado River in Dotsero. The river is known for prolific hatches, especially caddis flies in spring and early summer, making it a favorite for dry fly fishing.
