Join Us Planting Trees along Bear Creek

We’ll be planting trees and shrubs along the creek as well as repairing riparian and wildlife habitat on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 from 8AM to Noon. This will help improve stream quality for Bear Creek. In the past, there have been plenty of giveaways (water bottles, T-shirts, stickers and the like) and they feed us lunch!

Where: Bear Creek Greenbelt, Stone House Parking Lot - 2900 S Estes St, Lakewood, CO 80227

When: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

What to Bring? Appropriate work clothing for the weather including sturdy close toe shoes, long pants and work gloves

Additionally, you’re welcome to fish the creek after the work is done!

To attend this free event, you need to register with Lakewood Parks, search for “Earth Day Volunteer Event”.

Additionally, you can save time by filling out the CCTU Liability Form Here! If you choose to do this beforehand, please print it out and bring it with you. Otherwise, there will be forms available at the event.

Also, RSVP to Jim Sewell, Conservation Chair, Cutthroat Chapter at hjsewell3@aol.com or with the “Join Us…” links if you plan on attending.

April showers bring may flowers! Don’t worry. This photo is from 2023. But look! We had fun despite the weather!
