CCTU HIGH ALPINE LAKE ON-THE-WATER SEMINAR AND LAKE CLEAN-UP EVENT
SUNDAY, AUGUST 14, 9AM-3PM
URAD LAKE (NEAR BOTTOM OF BERTHOUD PASS ON HWY 40)
On Sunday, August 14, the Cutthroat Chapter will be hosting an Alpine Lake fishing seminar, followed by a lake clean-up event, picking up litter and other trash at the lake. Noted Alpine Lake fly fishing author Ron Belak will provide instruction on alpine lake fishing tricks and techniques. He will cover how to read lakes, lake entomology and fly selection, specific techniques and styles of lake fishing (streamer, dry-dropper, nymphing, etc.), and a run-down of key types of gear (sinking lines, float tubes, etc.). Urad Lake is fairly easy to fish and has solid quantities of rainbow, cutthroats, brookies, and a stray tiger trout or two. Following the seminar it is time to fish for a couple of hours. And, after lunch, a couple hours of much needed cleaning of trash, etc. around the lakeshore.
