Ecological Impacts of Dams on the Blue River:

Steve Bailey Scholarship Recipient, Nitsa Platis, CSU graduate student will be speaking about her work on the Ecological Impacts of Dams on the Blue River.

Nitsa (pronunciation: rhymes with pizza) is an MS student in the Fish, Wildlife & Conservation Biology Department at Colorado State University, co-advised by Dr. Brett Johnson & Dr. Yoichiro Kanno. Originally from Leavenworth, Washington, Nitsa grew up surrounded by nature, which helped spark her passion for conservation and led her to pursue a graduate degree in the field.

Today, she will be sharing some of her findings from her current research project which is focused on understanding the ecological impacts of dams on the Lower Blue River in North Central Colorado.
