Kirk Bien is the owner, with his wife Laurie, and a key guide for Kirk’s Fly Shop & Mountain Adventures in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado.   He started the business over 20 years ago and they now offer fly fishing and adventure trips and gear from three locations – Kirk’s Flyshop Estes Park, Estes Angler, and Kirks Flyshop Grand Lake.  He has been fishing and guiding in the area for nearly 25 years and will be speaking on his home-waters in Rocky Mountain National Park, including some of his favorite cutthroat-rich high mountain lakes.

Kirks Fly Shop & Mountain Adventures is located in Estes Park, Colorado, the Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. They are a family owned and operated, full pro-line fly shop, offering the top of the line fly fishing equipment, as well as backpacking and camping gear. Fly Fishing, hiking, backpacking and climbing in the great outdoors and Rocky Mountains are their passions, and they are focused on sharing their passions and maximizing the Rocky Mountain experience for all their guests.  In addition to their three locations for trips and gear, Kirk also runs a large-scale guide service for Flyfishing, Float Fishing on the Colorado River, Guided Lake Fishing Charters on Grand Lake, and Backpacking, Llama Packing, Hikes, and Snowshoe trips into Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding area.

Kirk Bien has been fly fishing for 25 years and guiding for 21.  He started the business over 20 years ago and has been joined in business by his parents and now son and daughter.  His favorite places to fly fish are RMNP, specifically Forest Canyon and the Big Thompson River below Lake Estes.  His favorite fishing buddies are his kids.  He is a frequent presenter at the Denver Fly Fishing Show, International Sportsman’s Expo, and TU Chapters throughout the west, and has been a celebrity Fly Tyer at numerous fly fishing industry shows.
