CCTU FEB CHAPTER MEETING – VIRTUAL MTG VIA ZOOM

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 7PM ON ZOOM

DICK JEFFERIES, ROCKY MOUNTAIN FLYCASTERS CHAPTER, Poudre Headwaters Greenback Restoration Project

Dick Jefferies, of the Rocky Mtn Flycasters Chapter of TU, will present their signature conservation project, the Greenback Restoration effort known as The Poudre Headwaters Project.  The project is a collaborative effort between the US Forest Svc, RMNP, US Fish & Wildlife, CPW, Water Storage and Supply (northern Colo ditch company), CTU, and the Rocky Mtn Flycasters and is partially funded by a settlement with Water Storage and Supply for their continued usage of Long Draw Reservoir.  When complete in 10-12 years, it will provide a connected “metapopulation” of trout across the watershed…the largest such restored native trout habitat in Colorado.  The project area spans approximately 40 miles of connected river and multiple lakes, including Long Draw Reservoir.   Dick will share a short video in addition to some remarks and discussion.  He will also talk through some of the impacts of the Cameron Peak Fire on both the Poudre and Big Thompson drainages.

NOTE – We also will be presenting the CCTU Board of Directors to the membership for 2021 election.

The meeting will be held on Zoom, starting at 7pm on Tuesday, February 16.  The Zoom meeting portal will open at 6:30pm, feel free to pop in early and talk with various CCTU members.
