PROGRAM 2 – CAT O’GRADY, THE DRIFT FLY SHOP, FLY FISHING THE ARKANSAS PUEBLO TAILWATER
Join Cat O’Grady, senior guide from The Drift Fly Shop, for an expert breakdown of the Arkansas River’s Pueblo Tailwater section. The nine miles of river below Lake Pueblo Dam, known as the Pueblo Tailwater, has quickly earned the reputation as Colorado’s best winter fly fishing destination. It is heavily stocked with rainbows annually and provides anglers a chance to catch numerous 10-14” fish, with opportunities for much larger fish throughout the river. Nymphing will always produce, but prolific Midge and Baetis hatches present excellent dry fly fishing opportunities throughout the winter. Due to its location, the river sees warmer water days than most during the winter months making this both a great place to beat out the cold and stalk some great fish. Come hear Cat’s presentation and unlock some of the secrets of this great winter fishery. She will review the different sections of river, hatches and fly recommendations throughout the season, and reveal some key tricks and techniques to improve your fishing satisfaction.

Cat O’Grady has been in love with fish and insects for as long as she can remember. Having completed her Bachelor degree in Environmental Biology and Chemistry, she now finds a happy home in the employment of The Drift Fly Shop. Cat has been a guide, shop attendant, and instructor in the fly fishing world for thirteen years. She is in her second year as a SAGE ELITE PRO and is an instructor at CSU-Pueblo where she teaches fly fishing. When she is not stream-side on her beloved Arkansas River Tailwater, Cat can be found with her nose in a book or with a vial of insects in her hands.
